LEICHHARDT HOTEL, Rockhampton – A Smart Stay in the City

The hotel is right in the center of the city of Rockhampton, offering spacious rooms that smell lovely. However, the rooms are still dated with a peeling headboard and dropping lampshades. The service was unbelievably lovely, with staff happy, friendly, and keen on making the stay great, even accommodating special requests like getting AFL Football on TV. The location is central to restaurants and shops, though it seems to attract some casual passersby. The dining experience was a mix of lovely complimentary items like bread, butter, jam, croissants, and danish pastries alongside disappointing rubbery eggs and undercooked bacon. The hotel's location is excellent, close to restaurants and the river, right in town. The rooms were spacious and fully equipped, but in need of a quality refit. The service was efficient in getting guests settled in their rooms but could improve in some areas. The dining options were not great and lacked variety. The hotel facilities were average, and some areas looked worn out.

The motel provided us with perfect rooms for myself and my daughter in a convenient location. The service, although at the limit of being rude, did not ruin the overall experience. The dining experience, after a refund on breakfast was given, could have been better. Overall, a decent option for a stay near the city center.
